I have shifted to the defaults

There was a time when I used to have a custom Arch plus DWM installation on my PC, and a custom ROM for my android phone, but after running that setup for solid 2 years, I am back to the default operating system of my devices. Now, I run Windows 10 LTSC IOT on my laptop and One UI on my mobile.

In COVID time, YouTube algorithm introduced me to the Linux/FOSS/Privacy advocates. It is a great movement which actively highlights the problem with the new anti-privacy laws and products. I still believe in the philosophy, but I don't practice it nowadays.

My reason for not practicing that philosophy anymore is, the alternatives are not the alternative. Meaning, you can't replace Windows 10 with Linux on your desktop if you need Adobe or MS Office. The software compatibility with Linux is very less. And there is not only software compatibility issues but hardware issues too. I can't use some functional physical keys of my keyboard on Linux (Linux Mint) and, I have a Lenovo laptop which is considered as the suitable brand for running Linux. Apart from that my main issue with most of the distros are the fonts. On every Linux distro I have tried (Linux Mint, Arch Linux, Ubuntu, Endeavour OS, Fedora) the font looks so bad and blurry. The only distro which didn't gave me that problem was Pop OS!

The main reason for returning to the defaults is also that, I am graduating from college next year, so I don't have time to spend on made up problems of my devices which can easily be fixed by installing the default operating system they came with. When I was running Linux, I used to spend 3-4 hours on fixing my Arch plus DWM install, I learned many things in my journey but now I have different priorities and want to spend my time on building something meaningful.
