My new blog backup setup

I was reading a Reddit post that how Google has started deleting the dead/old blogs randomly from the blogger. My blog is not old -- it is not even 1 month old yet, but still I don't want to lose my content in the purge. Because of this, I have decided to make a simple blog backup system using Obsidian. Blogger gives you the option to take out your backup in the XML format, but I want to backup my data in a more readable format.

Why and What is Obsidian

Obsidian is a note-taking app like the famous app called Notion. I chose Obsidian because unlike Notion I can use Obsidian without internet and it stores my files locally on my desktop, so I don't have to worry about internet outages and I live in the area where it is common. You can't sync your notes across different devices on free tier but you can purchase sync feature for $4/month. I have been using Obsidian without sync for a year now and it is the best note taking app I have ever used.

How does my setup works

I write my first draft in Obsidian and then copy paste it onto blogger. Obsidian saves my blog in `.md` format, so I just have to take care of that `.md` file during backup. And the good thing for me is that it is in the readable format. Then, I store one backup copy on Google drive and one copy on my pen drive, that way I have the total of three backup copies. I have set the frequency of my backups to once a month, so every month I'll be creating backup using this method.
